The Lucky Follower Series: Followers Who Asked for It

How the Lucky Follower series works: a follower volunteers, a match gets built, and the tape shows what happens. All three episodes, in order.

|5 min read

Every Lucky Follower match starts with the same three words: you asked for it.

The premise is simple. One follower volunteers. One match gets built. The tape shows exactly what happens when a volunteer meets me, and I do not cooperate. No script, no choreography, and the volunteer finds out in real time what their grappling looks like under real pressure.

Three episodes are out. Here they are in order.

Episode 1: Lucky Follower “You Asked For It” Domination Match

Released April 2025 · 21:16 · Premium

The match that started the series. A follower asked for the mat and got it. If you want to see where the format began, and how a first-time volunteer handles the opening minutes, start here.

Episode 2: Lucky Follower “You Asked For It” Domination Match 2

Released October 2025 · 42:09 · Premium · High intensity

The longest match in the series by a wide margin, at just over 42 minutes. Hard, sweaty grappling with a premium feel. If episode 1 was the proof of concept, episode 2 is the endurance test: more than forty minutes of a volunteer working under pressure.

Episode 3: Lucky Follower 3, Dolivos

Released June 2026 · 23:04 · Premium

Dolivos volunteered. I answered with body locks, side pressure, back-control sequences and a bonus round. The match opens on the knees with a body lock, runs through two separate back takes, and reaches a verbal give at 13:56 before the bonus round runs it back.

It is the cleanest case study in the series on one idea: back control. The full round-by-round breakdown is in How Lucky Follower 3 Was Won From the Back.

What the series is really about

Strip away the title and every episode answers the same question: what happens to someone’s game when the person across from them is not helping?

Training partners cooperate. Drills cooperate. Most people have never felt pressure from someone who is not interested in letting them work. The Lucky Follower format puts that on tape. You are seeing a real reaction, not a performance.

Episode 4 is open

The series runs on volunteers. Episode 4 only happens if someone signs up first. If you want to find out what your grappling looks like under real pressure, put your name in.
